Kortrijk, Belgium, 8 June 2016 – Barco, a global leader in visualization technology, is proud to launch InfiniSense, a real-time data analytics platform that collects, manages, and applies real-time data for any place-based advertising endpoint. The intelligent sensors of the InfiniSense platform scan the environment and audience in a display’s direct environment. The anonymized audience data is analyzed in real time by the InfiniSense cloud-based analytics software to provide Key Performance Indicators, dashboards, and reports. This enables retail and advertising companies to instantly customize their messages for increased relevance – which ultimately leads to higher conversion or impressions. InfiniSense will be commercially available from July 2016.
“Capturing the attention of an often distracted and unreceptive consumer is the biggest challenge retailers and advertisers are facing today. Our brand-new InfiniSenseTM real-time data analytics platform overcomes this,” comments Paul Matthijs, Senior Vice President of Barco’s Retail and Advertising division. “With insights into what communication has been displayed, on which display, and what audience has been reached, the real-time demographics and statistics provided by InfiniSense enable users to increase the effectiveness of their digital out-of-home communication. Now they can show the right information at the right time, to the right audience, and at the right place.”
Proof of performance
Thanks to the real-time InfiniSense audience analytics, users can determine the ROI of every single display in their advertising or retail signage network as they know exactly which displays get the most attention and who is looking at them. This not only enables them to optimize their display network or in-store flow and product placement, it also allows them to target campaigns more precisely for a higher return on investment. Thanks to InfiniSense, advertising companies not only understand the value of a certain advertising location or display, they can make smart decisions on converting static inventory to digital as well. Moreover, InfiniSense can also be combined with static advertising to assess important KPIs of the advertisement and its location. As such, InfiniSense provides objective metrics to support a smart decision on converting to digital.
Knowledge is power
The dashboards and KPIs gathered in the InfiniSense software can easily be visualized in any content management software. KPIs that are available as a dashboard or in a table/report format include: total reach versus impressions, unique traffic, individual dwell time, audience demographics (including age and gender), and heat maps that show traffic density over a specific time period.
Easy integration into current networks
Suited for any display, the modular InfiniSense hardware can be deployed at any location. Running autonomously, installation is a breeze and maintenance is limited. InfiniSense is fully display agnostic, which enables easy integration into current digital signage or advertising display networks. Moreover, the cloud-based software offers unlimited bandwidth and storage, allowing users to access their data history at any time.
Unique integration with X2O
Through the integration of InfiniSense into Barco’s X2O content management system, users have access to the collected data and reports via the X2O platform. InfiniSense provides a layer of networked intelligence which turns any display into an easily accessible data and interactivity beacon. In this way, one message no longer has to fit all situations. Available as stand-alone and fully autonomous solution or applied in unique conjunction with X2O content management, any display network can be converted into a smart and efficient digital content and marketing tool for out-of-home media.
Uniting hardware with software
InfiniSense consists of two components. The InfiniSense Interactive Analytics Point (IAP) hardware contains sensors for WiFi, optional antennas, and cameras to capture audience presence and support interactivity. The anonymized data that’s collected through these real-time sensors is then sent to the second component: a subscription software service (SAAS). This data cloud performs data analytics in real-time to provide Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), dashboards of demographics, and traffic related to a display’s direct environment.
