Established in 1953 by the late Dr Tonse Madhava Anantha Pai, the KMC was the first private sector medical college in India. Today, it still ranks among the top ten medical schools in the country. To uphold this position, the hospital’s staff is always looking for the very best and latest technologies to further improve healthcare services and patient care.
High standards
The hospital’s diagnostic imaging department delivers imaging services for a large range of specialty doctors at KMC and district hospitals, working in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, urology, nephrology, plastic surgery and pediatric surgery. Advanced imaging technologies used include CT, MRI, US, fluoroscopy, CR, DR and digital mammography.
As part of the PACS upgrade the hospital selected Barco’s Nio display systems. Dr Rajagopal K.V., HOD Radiology at KMC explains why. . “Having been a satisfied user of Barco diagnostic display systems for the past nine years, we decided to draw on their knowledge and experience once more. The new diagnostic display systems would have to meet some very stringent standards. “With its high luminance ratio, exceptional image quality and stability, the Nio proveed to be the ideal solution. Furthermore, as the Nio is bundled with MediCal QAWeb for automated calibration and quality assurance, maximum diagnostic confidence and uptime are guaranteed across our whole fleet.”
Success in sight
“We are honored that the esteemed staff at KMC has chosen to work with Barco technology once again,” says Luc Colle, VP Sales. “It was important to the hospital to have a diagnostic display capability that delivers a combination of best-in-class performance, reliability and diagnostic confidence. The Nio proved to be the best match.”
